Chankanaab National Park

This marine and wildlife sanctuary with great snorkeling opportunities is perfect for kids. A trail winds around the park that has more than 350 types of tropical trees and other plants to check out. A Maya museum and re-creations of dwellings from pre-Hispanic times on the grounds are educational and fun to walk through. A gift shop, snack stand and dressing room with lockers and showers are on the premises.

Childrens Carnaval Celebrations

February 20 through February 25
Children are well-represented during the Carnaval celebrations with such scheduled activities as costume contests and childrens parades. As for the adults, there are competitions for best costumes and group masquerade processions throughout the week.
